Vision and Values
Our Vision
Grow, Achieve, Nurture, Inspire
At Sturminster Marshall First School every child is known, valued and celebrated as an individual. We are a warm, caring community where differences are respected, kindness matters and wellbeing sits at the heart of school life. When children feel safe, supported and happy, they learn with confidence and joy.
We believe in high expectations and inspiring learning through imagination, challenge and curiosity. Our aim is for every pupil to reach their full potential and feel proud of who they are and what they can achieve.
Our Values
Our values guide how we live and learn together. Each month we focus on one value – such as kindness, respect, trust and friendship – exploring it in assemblies, lessons and daily school life. Pupils are encouraged to reflect on how these values link to life in modern Britain and are celebrated when they model them in action.
Learning Behaviours
We believe good learning grows from positive behaviours. Our approach helps children to be:
• Resilient – ready to keep going even when learning is hard
• Collaborative – working well with others
• Creative – curious thinkers who follow their ideas
• Responsible – making thoughtful choices about their learning and, about how they treat others
Together, our vision, values and learning behaviours help every child thrive academically, socially and emotionally. This strong ethos enriches school life and supports children to become thoughtful, confident citizens.
