Thursday 23 June 2022 Life Cycle Of A Plant This half term, our science focus is plants. This week we have been conducting lots of experiments with different plants. We have 3 white plants and have dyed the water with food coloring. We have ensured each plant has a different temperature. We have each predicted which plant will turn a different colour due to the water.

Wednesday 22 June 2022 We have all gone bananas! Last week on Newsround, Swallow's learnt of an artist who created art work on bananas. They decided to try creating their own.

Monday 20 June 2022 Whittling With My Friends Swallow's enjoyed their second session of Forest School again. This week we learnt all about whittling! We all hunted through the forest and chose which sticks we wanted to whittle. Instead of knives we used potato peelers - I was so impressed with the patience and concentration!

Thursday 16 June 2022 Drama Fun! This week, Swallow's have been super busy in English. We have been reading our new class book 'The Day I Swapped My Dad For 2 Goldfish', we began by having items and went around the room trying to swap for something different. It was interesting to see their reasons for swapping/not swapping certain items! Who knew a private jet was worth less than a fortnight pencil!

Thursday 17 March 2022 Where in the UK? We have had another busy week in Swallow class! We have been continuing our Farm to Fork topic, the children have impressed me with how much they remmebered from last week!

Thursday 10 March 2022 New Topic! This week Swallow's have started their new Geography Topic 'Farm to Fork'. They are focusing on changes in farming in the UK and where our food comes from. They have made a fantastic start, I was very impressed with all their prior knowledge about farming and sources of food!

Sunday 6 March 2022 Swallow's World Book Day Wow, what a busy week we have had in Swallow Class!! After the storm causing a little bit of a delay, we finally managed to finish our DT projects and take our moving monsters home! The children attached balloons to straws, created a small hole at the back and attached this to their monsters. When the balloon is deflated the monsters mouth is closed and as they blow through the straw, inflating the balloon the mouths moved open! They looked amazing and they worked so hard!

Sunday 6 March 2022 Messy monsters Before the storm, Swallow Class were very busy with their DT project. Our focus waspneumatic toys. We decided to create monsters out of recycled egg boxes and other recycled objects. This led to fantastic conversations on recycling and the importance of it!

Friday 18 February 2022 Friday 18th February Swallow class have become rock detectives over the last couple of weeks. We have been learning about The different types of rocks, the causes for erosion and change in rocks. The children have worked so hard and produced some lovely rock cycle posters!
