Whittling With My Friends

Swallow's enjoyed their second session of Forest School again. This week we learnt all about whittling! We all hunted through the forest and chose which sticks we wanted to whittle. Instead of knives we used potato peelers - I was so impressed with the patience and concentration!

Once happy with our whittling, we used paint pens to decorate our own 'forest people' - they looked very cute. Some children used wool to create outfits for their forest friends.

Some of the boys used old shed doors to create a log den and provide shelter for the larger logs and ensure they were always dry and ready to use on our fires! In their free time, the children played on the tyre swing they previously made, experimented with sawing logs and created their own digging area.

We have been loving Forest School .. .one more session to go!
