Swallow’s World Book Day
Wow, what a busy week we have had in Swallow Class!! After the storm causing a little bit of a delay, we finally managed to finish our DT projects and take our moving monsters home! The children attached balloons to straws, created a small hole at the back and attached this to their monsters. When the balloon is deflated the monsters mouth is closed and as they blow through the straw, inflating the balloon the mouths moved open! They looked amazing and they worked so hard!
On Thursday we all had the opportunity to dress up as our favourite book characters and share some stories! I was so impressed with how much effort each child put into their costumes, you all looked amazing! It was so lovely to hear some children read some pages of their favourite stories to the class.
Our class end of the day story has been George’s Marvellous Medicine, we loved it so much we decided to create our own medicines! There were so many ingredients to mix up including salmon paste, shower gel, mushy peas, eggs and so much more! They looked (and smelt) disgusting but I was so impressed with some of the side effects these medicines had on people if you were to take it. We made some fantastic warning posters to make sure nobody in Sturminster took the medicine!
Friday afternoon was very exciting as we started our first session of Forest School! We had so much fun climbing trees, exploring the area and playing some great games with Mrs Baker, you can see the Forest School Blog for more information and pictures! We can’t wait for next week!
