Swallow Class Forest School Session 1
What a great start to Year 3's first Forest School session! We were in luck with the weather and made the most of the sunny afternoon. We began our session by looking at any hazards we might need to avoid and going over the golden rules. Swallows were quick to point out any dangers and were great at remembering the rules.

The class were then given the challenge of building mini dens to keep their cotton wool balls dry when Miss Langley poured water over them. They worked in teams using all the natural resources around them and even had some underground designs!
During their exploring time, the children wee busy testing the rope swing, hunting for bugs and practising their balancing with their make shift see-saw!
We finished our session with our own spin on 'Back to Base'. One child stayed at base camp blindfolded whilst the rest of the group had to hide. The caller had to rely on their sense of hearing to try and catch anyone creeping back to base from their hiding spots. We had some ninjas in the making!
I look forward to seeing what adventures next week will bring with Swallow Class!
