Samba!

Year 3 and 4 have started their Samba lessons and all the children had a great time trying all the different drums and percussion instruments. They each were able to have a go on one or two different instruments and took part in call and response activities just to get a feel for all the different types of drums and what they sounded like. I am very much looking forward to watching them grow with confidence through the 10 week programme for their performance at the end.

The Kingfishers have also finished designing and assembling their slingshot cars, we just need to test them in the hall and see which has the least air resistance and goes the furthest!

The children are enjoying learning about Shackleton and his expedition to the Antarctic in 1914. We are learning about some of the different explorers and why they wanted to do this hazardous journey.

We have also been practising our maypole dancing for the May bank holiday. It is so nice to be outside in the sun. They are doing such a fantastic job and get so much better each time. I am very impressed!
