Robins Class WB 21/03/22
This week in Robins we have been very busy learning about our local area in Geography and comparing it to the city of London! To prepare for this we refreshed our understanding of the four countries of the UK and started comparing city and countryside locations. We learned about aerial photographs and used this and maps to create a Journey Line of Sturminster Marshall and drew the landmarks that we might see if we were to take a hot air balloon trip over the village.
We role played as Tour Guides and delivered presentations to the rest of the class about one of the four countries in the United Kingdom to demonstrate what we have learnt and remembered.
In English we are preparing to write our own version of The Sea Saw which is about a little girl who lost her bear at the seaside. We will be focusing on using consistent tense and the prefix 'un' (unkind, unhappy etc.) to make our writing more interesting.
In Maths we have completed our work on shape, space and measure and will begin multiplication! We will be counting in 2s, 5s and 10s, making equal groups, adding equal groups, creating arrays and also doubles.
In Jigsaw, our PSHE programme, we are continuing with our 'Healthy Me' topic and have learnt about road safety.
