Kingfisher's Forest School Session 1 -7/1/22

Kingfishers had their first Forest School session and were the first class to see our new hedgerow that’s been planted around our site for our new boundary line.

Kingfishers wasted no time exploring the area. The rain didn’t put them off getting stuck in!

We began our session with a team building game called the ‘Human Knot’. The children had to create a human chain and find a way to untangle themselves without breaking hands. The children had to communicate clearly with each other in order to problem solve and untangle themselves.

The class spent the next part of their session creating mini dens to protect a piece of cotton wool. In teams, they had to ensure the dens were as waterproof as possible in order to keep the cotton wool dry when Mrs Bentley poured a cup of water over it. We had lots of dry cotton wool balls!

At the end of our session, the children had definitely earnt themselves a hot chocolate and biscuit!
