Friday 14th January
This week, Woodpecker Class discovered a strange object in the classroom. There were lots of warning signs telling us not to touch it. We then found a mysterious note along with a suitcase and some honey. We investigated during our literacy lessons and decided a bear was responsible. We looked closely at the warning signs and sorted them into different sentences types. We found commands, questions, exclamations and statements. I wonder what we’ll find next week!
In Maths this week we have been solving word problems using bar models. We had to read the questions carefully to see what information they gave us and which type of operation we needed to do to find the answer.
In P.E we have been working on our hitting skills. We used soft balls to work with a partner and try to see how many times we could bounce the ball in the palm of our hands. We had to move our bodies quickly to be able to keep the ball up without dropping it.
