Autumn term round-up

During the Autumn term in Woodpeckers the children had some wonderful experiences in forest school: making dens, finding different textures and creating some lovely art pieces out of clay. In class, the children made a new chair for Baby Bear. They looked at different 3D shapes and decided on the most suitable one to make the chair stable, strong and secure. This linked to their English work which was about Goldilocks and The Three Bears and consisted of comparing different versions of the same book. Another book they enjoyed learning about was 'Wolves', this non-fiction book helped them to write subheadings and they learnt many facts too! Christmas time was a very happy occasion with many activities such as making cards, baking and decorating Christmas cakes and participating in a nativity called 'Prickly Hay.' The children dressed up in their costumes and performed in front of their family and friends with loud and clear voices and I was very proud of them!
