Tuesday 25 April 2023 Samba! Year 3 and 4 have started their Samba lessons and all the children had a great time trying all the different drums and percussion instruments. They each were able to have a go on one or two different instruments and took part in call and response activities just to get a feel for all the different types of drums and what they sounded like. I am very much looking forward to watching them grow with confidence through the 10 week programme for their performance at the end.

Friday 21 April 2023 First week back! We started a new story this week which involved the children predicting what 'Grandpa' did before he passed away by clues and objects left in his memory box. Fractions began in maths; so far we have learnt 1/2 and 1/4 of objects and numbers. History has been great fun; Year 3 (and some Year 2) have enjoyed telling us what they know about The Great Fire of London before we find out more about The Great Fire of Dorchester next week. We made 3D natural sculptures in art and learnt about securing the models so parts do not fall off. The children loved learning their maypole dance and we would like to thank the school society for all their help with this.
