We made a cube and there are a few treats in the cube to say 'Well done for trying your best'. In english we began to plan a fantasy story which we will finish after half term. We made a 'big' sculpture in art and tried hard to work collaboratively. I was impressed with the children's knowledge of TGFOL and TGFOD. They have obviously really enjoyed this topic.

Friday 21 April 2023 First week back! We started a new story this week which involved the children predicting what 'Grandpa' did before he passed away by clues and objects left in his memory box. Fractions began in maths; so far we have learnt 1/2 and 1/4 of objects and numbers. History has been great fun; Year 3 (and some Year 2) have enjoyed telling us what they know about The Great Fire of London before we find out more about The Great Fire of Dorchester next week. We made 3D natural sculptures in art and learnt about securing the models so parts do not fall off. The children loved learning their maypole dance and we would like to thank the school society for all their help with this.

Another highlight has been learning about ‘Pop Art’ by Andy Warhol; using bright, unrealistic colours and repeated patterns.
