Dear Parents and Carers,

REPORTS AND OPEN AFTERNOON

The school will be ‘open’ on the afternoon of Monday 5 July from 3.15 pm onwards to give all parents the opportunity to look at the children’s work & visit their child’s class for next year.

Reports will be given out at the end of school on that day, and will be handed personally to parents. Anyone who is unable to collect the report in person should send a written request nominating another person to receive the report on his or her behalf.

ROOM CHANGES

We will be having some building work done during the holidays, and there will be a rearrangement of our classroom organisation for next year. Reception class will stay where it is, Y1 will be next door (present Y4), Y2 will be where Y3 is now, Y3 where Y1 is now, and Y4 will be where Y2 is now. Confused? All will become clear when you come to the Open Afternoon!

WALK TO SCHOOL, FRIDAY 9 JULY

Next Friday morning (9 July) we will be walking to school from the Memorial Hall with our local community police officers and Mrs Tomkins. We’ll set off at 8.45am. Please join us there for the walk.

SICKNESS & DIARRHOEA

In the last few weeks we have had several incidents of sickness and diarrhoea in school. We have recently been sent the Health Protection Agency Guidance for Schools which states that ‘….the recommended period for children to be kept away from school is 48 hours from the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting’. Please stick to these guidelines to help us prevent the spread of infection amongst other children.

HOT SCHOOL MEALS

We have been advised that the cost of hot school meals will be rising from £2.10 to £2.15 in the Autumn Term. The next sheet of meals orders will be sent out shortly, and if you wish to order meals for the first week of term please ensure the order is with us by Monday 19 July at the latest.

SWIMMING POOL VANDALISM

Unfortunately the warm weather has attracted some teenagers to break in to the school pool in the evenings and at weekends, and they have caused some damage. The police will be monitoring the premises and we will be taking further security measures to try and prevent this. If you think you know anyone who may have been tempted, please alert them to the dangers of swimming without supervision.

FRASER PORTRAITS

Please return your order for class or whole school photos by Friday, 2 July, at the latest, to ensure delivery before the end of term.
